Once again Caran d'Ache pays homage to Chinese culture with another dragon.
The Dragon is the fifth sign of the Chinese Zodiac; the Wooden Dragon, celebrated once every 60 years, takes pride of place in 2024.
It represents strength and success, expresses enthusiasm, tireless energy and creativity; and is the only fantastic creature to be included in the Chinese Zodiac.
Body and cap in deep red lacquer, from which rises the dragon designed by Jean-Philippe Kalomji, with delicately engraved scales.
The workmanship is multi-layered to add relief to this exceptional piece.
The metal parts - the dragon, but also the clip, the cap and the grip of both the fountain pen and the rollerball - are plated with 18Kt gold. A magnificent contrast to the shiny red lacquer.
The 888 numbering (the number of pieces produced) is due to the number 8, by far the luckiest number as it is similar to the infinity symbol and brings prosperity and wealth.
Each pen is individually numbered at the top of the cap.
The pen is packaged in an elegant red case with magnetic closure, decorated on the outside with dragon scales.
