All over the world, approx 6 million people live with the effects of Parkinson's didease, a neurological degenerative disorder with no known cure.
Michael J.Fox, Canadian actor, comedian and author,
disclosed his diagnosis of Parkinson desease in 1998,
and has since been one of the main protagonists of
drug awareness and progress.
The MJFF Foundation, founded in 2000, is dedicated to research a cure,
and was recently labelled by Bloomberg as
"the fulcrum on which Parkinson's research pivots".Now, Montegrappa offers its contribute to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, developing the collection Tulip for Team Fox.
All proceeds from sales, ex-factory, will be donated directly to Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF)
The Tulip pen is based on the Elmo 01 model: a compact, all-round pen that recalls the international modernist style made popular by the Bauhaus movement in the '20s.
The red tulip is the global symbol of Parkinson's awareness since 2005.
The orange color is the same as the Michael J. Fox Foundation's logo.
The name of the pen, its colors, and the sculpted clip evoke the tulip; in fact, the Tulip collection offers an innovative way for pen lovers and gift seekers to show empathy for Parkinson's patients and contribute to the search for a cure.
The clip is shaped as a stylized tulip, and was designed by the wellknown Australian artist, Timothy John; who was himself diagnosed with the Parkinson condition in 2017 and goes on adapting to his new reality, continuing his work.
